Xsires is an organisation focused on crossbreeding. It houses a lot of knowledge about breeding in general and has a lot of practical input. With this we can serve the modern dairy farmer who is aiming for good technical results and therefore is searching for ways to a more durable dairy herd.Â

Xsires is founded by Hans Kerkhof and Henk Schoonvelde. Both real cow people with a lot of experience and practical dairy farming knowledge.Â

Hans Kerkhof has years of experience in the Dutch dairy industry and Holstein breeding. He has worked for several breeding programs and was/is a dealer in exporting cattle. Like many others working in the Dairy cattle industry Hans also noticed that the modern Holstein cow did not fit so well anymore to the demands of modern dairy farmers. Together with the impressive results of several crossbreeding trials finally led tot the foundation of Xsires.Â

Henk Schoonvelde is a practising dairy farmer in Koekange, The Netherlands. Born and raised on a no-nonsense dairy farm with economical results playing a key role, he already had an early interest in crossbreeding. During foreign working periods and dairy farm visits Henk came in contact with some extremely strong crossbred herds. Added up with the excellent crossbreds between purebred Frisians x Holsteins x Jersey in the past on his own farm, Henk decided to start crossbreeding again. On his mainly Jersey/Holstein crossbreds he used Austrian Fleckvieh bulls with very good results and these crossbreds are mated to Norwegian Red bulls. Henk is currently milking cows out of this last cross and is even more enthusiastic about them. The selection of the right bulls and using them in the right combination is necessary for a maximum results. There should never be any concessions made! With his practical knowledge and experiences Henk is an excellent specialist on crossbreeding.Â
